TKCS
designed a simple to use, but flexible database application
to manage events - in this case, golf tournaments. The database
captures basic information, such as the contact information,
tournament format, and number of holes. It also manages the
entire list of tournament players, proximity holes and sponsorship
holes. Additional logistic information relating to catering,
room set up and equipment is recorded and coordinated.
The majority
of D'Arcy Ranch's corporate clients book annual events, and
some plan multiple tournaments each year. The tournament coordinator
saves time on data entry by duplicating the tournament details
and invoicing information, thereby focusing on fine-tuning
the tournament.
A spreadsheet
is provided to the client to facilitate the team setup. This
sheet is emailed to the coordinator, who then imports it into
the database. Team lists, scorecards, and bag tags are prepared,
and tee times, carts, and starting holes are assigned. Once
the tournament has been confirmed, relevant information is
shared between departments, such as the pro shop and catering.
In the
off-season, D'Arcy Ranch uses our program to organize the
logistics for meetings and any other events they are hosting.
